Teacher Education Admissions

Any student eligible to enter McNeese State University is eligible to pursue a degree from a professional education program or alternative certification from one of the professional education programs. It is not assured, however, that by doing so, a student is admitted to one of the professional education programs. Enrollment in specified upper-level courses included in teacher education curricula requires admission to a professional education program.

Admission to a professional education program requires satisfactory completion of the requirements for admission to a professional education program, which are different from University admissions requirements. McNeese State University offers three programs leading to Louisiana teacher certification, and each program has unique requirements and is denoted by a unique course. Admissions requirements and applications for each program are available here. Additionally, the admission documentation for the Master of Education in the Department of Teacher Education is available here.
