McNeese State University’s Alternative Certification Program offers the opportunity to get your Master’s degree while teaching and earning teacher certification.

This program offers coursework leading to a Master of Art in Teaching (MAT) degree and teacher certification in elementary education, secondary education, or special education - mild/moderate. This program offers traditional semester-long courses at night, on weekends, in hybrid formats (blend of face-to-face and online), and online.
